Emil's Residence is a location in NieR:Automata. Home to Emil, the rickety wooden structure is filled with objects from the old world and is adorned with a number of his faces. Two of these can be worn and are obtainable while visiting, although either Pod will warn 2B or 9S that he might not appreciate the thefts.

Acquiring Emil's Head will lead Emil to investigate, causing him to catch the perpetrators red-handed and engage them in a fight. Due to Emil putting his valuable possessions in a locked chest that requires hacking to open, only 9S can engage in this battle.

Location[]

In the City Ruins, close to the sewer system which normally leads to the Flooded City, a hidden pipe can be seen and jumped to. The pipe is only uncovered once the Deep Cave is unearthed.

Points of Interest[]

Emil's Home Entrance
A pipe is exposed in the side of the mountain face, which hides a secret elevator.

Emil's Home Cave System
The elevator leads to a massive cave system guarded by aggressive machines.

Emil's Home Pool
The cave system leads to a large drop and a pool of water. Various high-level enemies hide in the darkness.

Emil home 2
Inside the great door reveals the home of Emil, which contains some high value items.

Notes

  • Emil (Sacrifice) will be played throughout the visit.
  • When visiting the location after acquiring Emil's Head, a regular chest containing Powerup Part L will be found in its place, and will be refilled upon saving and reloading the game.
  • Defeating Emil outside of his home will have him drop Emil Heads, combat bracers designed in his likeness.
  • The lock on the door leading to his home will reset after beating the game. Shoot him down, and speak to him again while in the City Ruins to regain access. This will have to be done again when jumping between chapters.

Trivia[]

  • A mailbox can be found amongst the assortment of objects in Emil's house. Mailboxes had previously served as save points in NieR RepliCant and NieR Gestalt.
