The Gambler's Colosseum is a location in NieR:Automata added in the 3C3C1D119440927 DLC. It is one of three arenas the player can use to test their skills and earn rewards, and alongside the others (Trial of Sand and Underground Colosseum), is required to be partially beaten to progress the Mysterious Letter quest.

Location[]

The colosseum entrance can be located a distance away from the Flooded City: Coast access point, near where 2B and 9S start the Grün encounter. The player must have started the quest Mysterious Letter which can only be obtained by purchasing the 3C3C1D119440927 DLC.

Services[]

Flooded City Colosseum Entrance
The elevator is guarded by a suspicious android. The Mysterious Letter is needed in order to enter. The guard will state that the player character has no pass for the arena. After a little pestering, he will accept being paid 1,000 G to "realize" that they have one. This sum only needs to be paid once.

Flooded City Colosseum Reception
Access to arena trials and various information.

Flooded City Colosseum Arena
Spectators watch machine battles. Some chests can be found around the outside of the area. An Android appears after a few fights near the left-hand entrance going in and can be asked about fighting "you-know-who." If pestered enough she will allow the player to access the secret CEO boss fight.

Flooded City Colosseum Maintenance Shop
Plug-in chips and Pod program upgrades can be purchased from the owner here.

Flooded City Colosseum Back Room
The receptionist will let you into the backroom after reaching S rank. Inside there is a prison cell full of captive machine lifeforms, the one nearest the front begging to be destroyed to end his suffering, which the player can oblige. The room itself contains a chest with the Emil Bullets.

Trials[]

Trials are a horde-based arena mode with various difficulties and rewards which can be started by talking to the receptionist in the Colosseum.

Notes[]

  • Emil Bullets can be found here again after it is picked up the first time just like the Emil Mask after using chapter select. Just like Emil's Mask however, it won't add to the player's inventory.
  • It is highly recommended that you use A2 in the special challenge instead of 2B due to her more versatile fighting style.
  • During the special challenge in the colosseum, you fight against many of the game's bosses again. However, their appearances resemble the Gestalts fought in the original game.
  • If you use 9S during the special challenge and try to hack the bosses, you will enter into multiple unique hacking games. These hacking minigames are not registered to the Hacking Arcade after completing them however.
  • In the Rank S battle, there are some medium biped machines you fight with unique designs. After you finish the battle however, they will not be added to your unit data.
    • Similarly, the bosses fought during the special challenge and CEO Boss Fight are also not added to your unit data after completing the battles.
