White Room Replicant

The "White Room" in NieR RepliCant

In The World of Recycled Vessel, the player is presented with passages from Nier's wife's diary. In the diary, Nier's wife outlines the basis for the events surrounding NieR RepliCant and NieR Gestalt—that the Replicants would eventually gain their own sense of identity and the Gestalts would be denied their real bodies, leading inevitably to conflict.

The diary itself becomes available after Grimoire Weiss is released from the Lost Shrine, although the enemies in each door will be too high-leveled to take on at that point in the game.

Inside, the player takes control of the younger incarnation of Nier while in the diary, whereas the older Nier takes the former's place in NieR RepliCant. Alongside a wealth of rare raw materials, the diary is also the only place where Fool's Embrace, Fool's Lament, and Fool's Accord can be obtained.

While not required in the original release, they have since been added to the total weapon count in NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139..., and thus are now needed to view all endings. It is referred to as "A Departed Mother's Diary" in ver.1.22..., and it becomes available for access after viewing Ending A instead.
