Iron Pipe is a weapon in NieR and NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139.... It is the weapon used by Nier in the prologue and can be obtained later in the game.

- We've finally run out of money. Food just costs a lot more nowadays because of the war. We tried begging at the church, but they have their hands full caring for the wounded and can't spare anything.
- Yonah's really lost a lot of weight. I wish I could get her something to eat.
- July 15
- We met a nice lady who gave us some food. At first, I thought she was homeless like us, but she said she was joining some kind of relief and support thing run by the government, so we decided to go with her.
- At least Yonah seems to be doing okay today.
- August 1
- That nice lady from before used a book and turned into a monster. We ran away as fast as we could, because I don't think she's human anymore.
- Everything those adults told us was a lie—they won't give us money, and they won't treat Yonah's illness. Also, there's a huge wall around the city now and we can't get out. We never should have come here.
- August 5
- It's so cold today. I can't believe it's summer. I can actually see my breath.
- We decided to hide from the monsters in an abandoned supermarket. We found a few old cans of food there, but now those are gone. Also, Yonah's cough just won't quit.

- All the money is gone, because of the food inflation that caused the war. A lot of injured people helped me out at the church.
- Yonah is slimming down. I want to get her something good to eat.
- July 15th
- Some nice ladies were able to get us some food. They are homeless people like us, we can join any countries' salvation groups. They decided to let me go with them as well.
- Yonah is looking very lively today.
- August 1st
- The nice ladies were turned into black monsters by that book. I ran in fear. That old lady isn't human anymore.
- The adults were all lying. We can't get any money from them, nor can Yonah get any examination for her sickness. This city is barricaded by the high walls and there is no way out. I shouldn't have come here.
- August 5th
- It's very cold today. Summer is a lie. There is a white atmosphere.
- I decided to lose the monsters, so we hid in the supermarket. We ate some left-over canned food, but that's gone too. Yonah kept on coughing.
- I have a bad feeling about this.

- This weapon is not marked as "New" in Grimoire Weiss's notes when picked up during The Magical Stone.
- The weapon story for the Iron Pipe is about the lives of Nier and Yonah a few months before the prologue of the game.
