Lily is the leader of the Resistance in NieR:Automata Ver1.1a. She has a steadfast personality and cares for her friends.
She first appeared in the YoRHa stage play, which was adapted into both the novella YoRHa—VER. 1.05 and manga YoRHa: Pearl Harbor Descent Record. She is also mentioned in NieR:Automata in the Anemone novella series.
Story[]
Originally, Lily became part of the Resistance under the command of Rose during the 8th Machine War that took place over 200 years before Ver1.1a. She was a "lover" model assigned to the unit's commanding officer, who proceeded to physically abuse and assault her. After Captain Rose nearly beat the abusing officer to death, Rose's entire unit deserted from the squad.[1]
She gets infected by a logic virus, but is cured by No.21. The leftover machine code grants her the ability to create gravity wells.
In NieR:Automata, Lily (referred to as Lilly) is implied to have died during the Pearl Harbor Descent. In NieR:Automata Ver1.1a, she instead survives and takes charge of the Resistance Camp. When she first meets 2B, she mistakes her for YoRHa Number Two in a similar fashion to Anemone in NieR:Automata.
As the story progress, Lily dies by the hands of A2 as she succumbs to a zombie virus carried by the children from Pascal's Village.
Trivia[]
- Lily's weapon was originally Rose's, and was given to her as a parting gift and passage of the mantle of leadership.
- Lily's first meeting with 2B references her previous allegiance with A2 in the YoRHa stage play.
- Rose gave Lily her name. She named all her squad members after flowers.[2]
