NieR Music Concert: The Memories of Puppets is a collection of concerts held in Tokyo, Osaka, and Taiwan in 2017. Each concert had the same set of musical performances interspersed with unique stage readings that expanded upon the events and background of NieR:Automata.
Music from the concert was later released as a standalone CD without the audio drama performances.
Blu-ray Release[]
A Japanese Blu-ray of the concerts was released on September 20, 2017.[1] An English Blu-ray was released in December.[2]
The Blu-ray contains the video-recorded musical performances and stage readings from the May 5th nighttime showing. The disc also contains the stage readings from every other showing.
Stage readings not recorded on video were re-recorded in a studio for the Blu-ray,[3] and are paired with text-based visuals reminiscent of the Novels from NieR:Automata. As the original readings were performed in Japanese, a Blu-ray version with English subtitles was later released.
PlayStation Plus Release[]
In 2018, a limited-time version of the concert was released for PlayStation 4 as part of the digital Premium Musical Notes series. It was available to claim for PlayStation Plus users in certain regions from February 7 through April 6, and access was available until April 30.[4] Opening the app daily was required to unlock content, most of which were tracks sourced from the Blu-ray release. Additional PlayStation-exclusive rewards included profile avatars and a themed wallpaper.
