or not to [B]e is the second obtainable main ending in NieR:Automata.
To obtain this ending, play through the game and beat the main story for the second time, continuing from an Ending A save file.
Story[]
When 9S is sent back to the Bunker for a complete data overhaul following the battle with Adam, he finds a glitch in the Bunker network. Becoming suspicious, 9S stops all of his and 2B's data synchronization and investigates. He discovers crucial information: the Council of Humanity was established after the foundation of YoRHa. Commander White confesses that humanity has indeed been long extinct; and the Council of Humanity was only created to maintain the lie of humanity's existence, giving the androids a reason for fighting. She adds that he can do whatever he wants with that information, and 9S then heads to Earth to support 2B in the final battle with Eve.
The end of the route is identical to Ending A, however this time two girls in red appear to witness 2B strangling 9S to death, and 9S narrates:
"And so, the final battle with Adam and Eve came to an end.
This battle will likely have a great effect on the outcome of the war.
2B and I—our battle will continue for some time to come.
But that's another story for another day."
During the end credits, 9S can't bring himself to tell 2B the truth about humanity, and ultimately decides to keep it from her.
