- In "The Fire of Prometheus" there is a story about P-33. P-33 was a character in the original NIER. He was a human-made machine who gained massive, sentient intelligence. He erupted from the Junk Heap and launched himself into space. As he was leaving he saw the alien's machines fighting and endless and needless war, so he decided to give them the gift of higher intelligence. It is believed that "Spirit of Fire" refers to this.
