Wendy is a gigantic Shade and a boss in NieR RepliCant and NieR Gestalt (NIER). Its appearance is that of a huge stone sphere with a single black eye, surrounded by Shade tentacles that can fold together, giving it the look of a closed lotus flower. It is fought in the Aerie, where it causes the majority of the villagers to become Shades. After Nier and the group kill many of the villagers, Wendy emerges from a black vortex in the air and attacks. It proves to be an incredibly powerful foe, as it takes a combined magical attack from both Nier and Emil to finally kill it. However, the extreme effort this requires from Emil causes him to lose control, and the resulting explosion obliterates Wendy along with the entire Aerie and all of its inhabitants.

Defeating it rewards Nier with the "Sacrifice" key, used to enter the Shadowlord's castle.

Trivia

Wendy is named after one of the female lead characters in Peter Pan.
