- "Let me tell you what's going to happen next. You're all going to suffer, until eventually I decide to let you die."
- — No.6 Infected by a Logic Virus
YoRHa Type A No.6 is one of the eight leading characters in the NieR:Automata YoRHa Boys stage play, who was also later included in the novel by the same name.
Story[]
No.6 is an Attacker type YoRHa android assigned to the all-male Experimental M Squadron which specializes in close-proximity combat, as well as "plenty of other stuff"—which is not further specified.
Being an M002 model, No.6 is a junior member within his squadron to M001 models due to his latency in production. His lower-ranking position, however, does not stop him from openly mocking his seniors and vocalizing his loathing for manual labor when he is ordered to carry it out.
Personality[]
No.6 is shown to be a mischievous and lively individual, outfitted with dastardly wit that causes him to fall prey to arrogance—and a tongue that can cut almost as sharp as his blade itself. He has a low tolerance for the ignorance of others and an eye for poise, often jeering the graceless and crude fighting styles and behaviors his comrades—specifically No.3—seem to exhibit.
Alongside his tactless tendencies, No.6 also often speaks in a number of ways deemed inappropriate—be it rude remarks or generally unprovoked, questionable implications—in otherwise normal situations. As the circumstances of his squadron worsen, it is shown that he displays pleasure when witnessing the effects suffering has on others whether they be friend or foe, even more so when such misery is inflicted by his own hands. This is likely due to his programming as a combat model, giving him an incentive to kill his enemies without the consideration that he may take a liking to harming his allies as well.
In addition to this, No.6 is one of the few YoRHa androids with the self awareness to fully reflect on his nature, this being shown when he ponders why one would program such a cruel and problematic android as himself when it would no doubt backfire on his squadron.
Trivia[]
- In an interview, Yuuto Doi expressed that his most memorable and embarrassing moment in the production of the YoRHa Boys play is the "SSU virus scan" scene, which had him moaning in front of a full audience.[1]
- No.6's final pleading moments imply that he does fear his own death, contrary to his previous nonchalant disregarding of it's effects with a simple, "If they're dead, they're dead."
- It can be noted that No.6's attributes are uncannily similar to that of Dito from Drakengard 3, even down to the way he handles his weapon. Whether this be merely coincidental or not is unknown.
