General information.

YoRHa Type S or Scanner Type Models are a classification of YoRHa android who specialize in espionage, infiltration, and data gathering. They were created and deployed for use during the 14th Machine War.

Unlike other model types, Scanner Types are almost exclusively male. After 9S's victory over A2 in the Forest Kingdom, Commander White calls for a boost in production of Scanner Type Models.

9S is the only Scanner Type Model shown to wield weapons.
- However, 42S is notably mentioned in the Type-4O Lance weapon story.
No.21 is the only known female Scanner Type Model, notably a prototype.
- She has the same personality number as Operator 21O, and as such, they are both programmed to have a calm exterior and are known for their rationality.
